anyway (. I am 22 years old and diagnosed with lupus a year ago, a month before the age of 21 years. Hello, I'm sorry you have been diagnosed recently with lupus, and is only 15 years old = I am currently up to 9 mg of prednisone and CellCept Plaquenil. I know it sucks to take steroids, can cause swelling and weight gain and many other issues. But I know that most side effects disappear over time, I think your body adapts to it or something. Moreover, even his lupus stabilized (or goes into remission), your doctor will probably decrease significantly prednisone, which also contribute to it.

I know I should feel tired and aching joints, but the days when you feel fine, sport is for you. Should Mainly because taking prednisone Loos makes you prone to bone take calcium + D supplements and exercise.

With lupus, and certainly much improved. You know what's important in life. No popularity, no clothes, or a party ... what really mateERS is the family, love and positive attitude to life. Stick, I know its hard. It took about 5 months time to actually get an agreement with my new disease. For now, do go out, healthy eating, exercise, friends, something that you are happy and makes life worth?

Ask your doctor Plaquenil is very effective in preventing further attacks and is generally well tolerated. I do not know if you are taking CellCept, however, because generally people with severe cases of SLE Lupus, but ask your doctor. CellCept Plaquenil and has done wonders for me (I cut my daily dose of 60 mg of prednisone 9mg! - It also goes down the stairs). lol .. Needless to say, I am one of the most serious cases.

My mother had lupus. She died 5 years after its founding. She was 48th I get checked every year, because it runs through our family. Here is a brief summary of what is lupus.

Lupus is an autoimmune disease that can affect various parts of the body including the skin, joints, heart, lungs, blood, kidneys and brain. Normally, the body's immune system makes proteins called antibodies that protect the body against viruses, bacteria and other foreign bodies. These foreign materials called antigens.

In an autoimmune disease like lupus, the immune system can not distinguish between foreign substances and its own cells and tissues. The immune system produces antibodies against itself. These antibodies - called "auto-antibodies" (auto means self) - inflammation, pain and damage to various body parts.

There are many "steroid-sparing" or available. "The work very quickly if there is a significant problem. These include Plaquenil and Imuran. Talk to your doctor about the application of these principles, if possible, and the matter to which it (unfortunately, often cause severe side effects, but a life saver sometimes).
Some people are more tolerant of Medrol or Split / dose group (with two) better.
Good luck!

I have lupus. It has auto-immune diseases, ie it is the immune system "Hyperdrive and attacks against its own cells as if they were foreign invaders. Each person with lupus different symptoms.

The body attacks the joints, pain in the joints. When body tissues are attacked there is fatigue and weakness.

Steroids may reduce inflammation that causes lupus: FAST. Therefore, they are used. I started on Plaquenil (not steroids), joint pain, fatigue and weakness to relieve. It takes several months into force when, but I hear it is worth the wait.

Lupus is known to affect bone density and bone. I suggest that, despite talk to your rheumatologist First, you start taking calcium supplements, even when they are young.

It is very important to develop a trusting relationship with their doctors, is a disease in the Lupus I, unfortunately, but if your doctor, you will not feel alone with her.

The achievement of the school nurse,Re likely to support groups in your area, such as lupus and to find it through the church or the local hospital.

They say he is frustrated and hate the side effects of steroids. Talk to your doctor about it, why do you need steroids. There are times when Lupus with other medicines (eg, Plaquenil be administered or other drugs, or NSAIDs) and steroids, "as" from time to time.

Best, take care of you.

Anti-inflammatory drug
For people with joint or chest pain or fever, drugs that reduce inflammation, as are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are often used. While some NSAIDs are available without a prescription prescription from a doctor available, it is necessary for others. NSAIDs can be used alone or in combination with other controlled drugs, used to pain, inflammation and fever. Even though some NSAIDs may be purchased without a prescription, it is important to be taken under the supervision of a physician. Common side effects of NSAIDs, including the disadvantages include stomach upset, heartburn, diarrhea and water retention. In some patients with lupus also an inflammation of the liver and kidneys while taking NSAIDs develop, making it especially important to keep in close contact with the doctor while taking this medication.

Naprosyn, Aleve
